SR-5 is Honored to Announce the Following DSA Recipients |

At the May National BSA meeting the National OA Committee announced the 2009 recipients of the Distinguished Service Award. The Distinguished Service Award was created in 1940 to honor those who rendered service to the Order beyond the lodge level.
The award is presented to those Arrowmen who have rendered distinguished and outstanding service to the Order on a sectional, regional, or national basis.
The award is presented every two years during NOAC. Since the time of the first awards were presented in 1940 less than 750 Distinguished Service Awards have been presented.
This year the Selection Committee decided to honor the following SR 5 Arrowmen for their outstanding service:
- Dustin Counts - 2005 Section Chief, 2006 Southern Region Chief and OA Voyage Foreman (Catawba Lodge)
- Burl Holland - ArrowCorps5, National OA Web Committee and OA Voyage Foreman (Itibapishe Iti Hollo Lodge)
- Michael Kirby - 2001 Section Chief (Atta Kulla Kulla Lodge)
- Mason Thomas - 2007 Section Chief and 2008 Southern Region Chief (Muscogee Lodge)
- Frank Sturges - 2004 Section Chief, Southern Region High Adventure Coordinator and OA Voyage Foreman (Catawba Lodge)
These awards will be presented at the 2009 National Order of the Arrow Conference.

Congratulations to our Section Officers and our

2009 Section Officers Elected |

During the 2009 Dixie Fellowship we elected new officers to lead our Section for the year and plan the 2010 Dixie Fellowship.
Our new Section Officers are:
- Lee Gaston, Section Chief (Itibapishe Iti Hollo Lodge)
- John Cuenin, Section Vice-Chief (Muscogee Lodge)
