On
April 28th, 2006 over 1000 Arrowmen descended upon an energy
filled atmosphere at the Knox Scout Reservation for the 2006
Dixie Fellowship hosted by Bob White Lodge and the
Georgia-Carolina Council. Some highlights include a live
band Friday night, a skit performed by the Section Officers,
an appearance by the Region Chief, Section Elections and of
course the Awards ceremony Sunday morning. Our own Dustin
Counts, the 2006 Southern Region Chief, spoke at the
Saturday night show on his experience with OA Trail Crew at
Philmont, how we can have an impact on others, and how we
should take advantage of every opportunity that comes our
way.The new 2006-2007 Section Officers were elected
Saturday evening with Greg Bajan, the younger brother of
past Section Chief Ryan Bajan, was elected Section Chief.
Matt Carroll, Lodge Chief from Unali’yi was elected Vice
Chief, and Mason Thomas of Muscogee Lodge was elected as the
Section Secretary. Our new Staff Adviser, Barry Oxley,
attended his very first Dixie Fellowship as our new adviser.
Sunday morning at the awards ceremony, the time that all
have waited for, came with a slight overcast, yet the rain
held off. Muscogee was awarded the Knowledge and Training
award, Eswau Huppeday recaptured the Quest for the Golden
Arrow, Santee won the Spirit award for the second time in
three years, and Muscogee lodge was named the 2005-2006
